Helping people

This week, my goals are to finish some boilerplate deploys for turn-key lean startups with big-business features using Heroku and GitHub. I may spin some of it off for a blog series, possibly some training materials.

Yesterday, I helped a friend to understand how to solve a problem they were having with some programming after 2 years away from the tech they were working with.

It felt really great to help, but also to relay to them, it's okay not to know these things. Not everybody needs to know everything.

Ground your specific solution in something that might not be keynote worthy. Delivery and maintainability are more important for them, to communicate their initial validation. Osmosis of my complete skill-set, or impressing me are not.

We do different things and that's cool.
